Lotus Seed Wakizashi SD35310

The Lotus Seed Daisho set from Dragon King beautifully symbolizes the circular journey of enlightenment. The lotus seed begins its life in the muck, then grows into a stalk, emerging from the muddy water to blossom. As the bloom fades, the maturing seeds fall back into the mud to continue the cycle of rebirth.

The Lotus Seed Katana, like the lotus blossom, transitions from various shades of violet with the wrapped cotton ito (handle wrap), gold and purple sageo on the smooth, deep, dark lacquered saya. Copper seeds accent the blackened furniture throughout the handle. The immaculately detailed budding seed pod centers the entire piece, with silver dragonfly menuki, seppa, and habiki splashing highlights across the 7" tsuka.

The 19 3/8" forged T10 blade features an irregular hamon (temper) line, much like the path of life with its ups and downs. The wakizashi completes the motif with a bold statement both physically and metaphorically without being audacious in design.

Overall, the set measures 27 1/2" with a blade length of 19 3/8" and a handle length of 7". It weighs 1 lb 11 oz with a sori of 1/2". The blade steel is T10 with an Hrc edge of 60 and an Hrc back of 40.
