The Hanwei Wakizashi Bamboo Mat, designed by Paul Chen, showcases a chu-kissaki blade made of high-alloy HWS-2S steel. This steel, produced in Hanwei's state-of-the-art factory, boasts exceptional edge retention and strength, as well as a striking O-choji hamon. The tsuba, or handguard, is crafted from black iron, featuring a bamboo motif with intricate bamboo leaf accents. The fuchi/kashira, or pommel and collar, and golden menuki, or hilt ornaments, continue the bamboo theme, with the menuki depicting a pair of sparrows. The saya, or scabbard, is finished with a high gloss lacquer and adorned with horn fittings.

Constructed by Hanwei, this Wakizashi measures 65 cm in total, with a blade length of 47.6 cm and a handle length of 16.51 cm. The weight of this exceptional piece is 680 grams, making it a formidable yet elegant addition to any collection.
