Scottish Sword with Basket Handle by Hanwei - Old Version

Hanwei's Paul Chen Basket-Hilt Broadsword is a legendary weapon associated with the 17th and 18th centuries, although Basket-Hilt swords began appearing throughout Britain in the mid-16th century. This particular sword is a replication of an original piece from the Royal Armouries collection in England, featuring a typical Glasgow-style handle from the mid-18th century. The blade of the original sword, which bears the mark "Andrea Ferara", is believed to have been produced in Germany a century earlier and later reformed as basket designs evolved. This reproduction of the sword boasts an aged finish, and the handle is constructed from stainless steel to minimize maintenance and is finished with a museum-quality patina. The blade is forged from high carbon steel and also features a slight aged finish to enhance its authenticity.

Manufactured by Hanwei, the sword's blade material is steel with a high carbon content of 1566 and an antique finish. It has an overall length of 100.1 cm and weighs 1389 grams. The sword also comes with a leather-covered sheath.
